Getting Connected
Each lot in an OptiComm Fibre Connected Community has a pre-provisioned optic fibre cable installed in a pit close to your lot. To get connected there are a few pre-requisites to allow for the connection to proceed.
- All new homes are now required to be fitted with a communications enclsoure provided by the Builder. Opticomm has developed a range of enclosures with major manufacturers Clipsal, B&R and A&B which are part of the utility boxes on the side of the house.
- Your builder needs to install a continuous 25mm white telecommunications pipe from the pre-installed starter pipe at the property boundary point to the telecommunication enclosure;
- The home should pre-wire from the telecommunications enclosure to the Home Distribution Unit location or to Wall Outlets (if no Home Distribution Unit installed)
OptiComm has a range of documentation to assist the builders and residents to prepare for the connection to the Fibre to the Premise network and the distribution of these services to the required locations in your new home. The first of these can be accessed via the following link to the Cable Entry Guide
Once you are satisfied these pre-requisites are completed and you are either ready to move in or have moved in then you should contact the OptiComm Customer Connection Information Desk on 1300 137 800.
