By OptiComm posted June 19, 2018

19 June 2019 – OptiComm is completing the final stages of the rollout of the superfast Fibre-to-the-Premises network in the suburb of Gregory Hills in South Western Sydney.

Gregory Hills is a master-planned community in the South Western Priority Growth Area in the Macarthur region of Sydney. Today, Gregory Hills is home to over 5,000 residents and the development also features a town centre, business park, shopping centre, recreational parks, playing fields and schools. The employment lands cover 45 hectares and will support 3,000 jobs.

David Taylor, General Manager at Dart West Development said “With a forecast residential population of over 8,000 people and up to 3,000 jobs in the business park, it was critical that Dart West worked with a reliable and innovative telecommunications infrastructure provider. OptiComm has consistently delivered a reliable and high-quality network to all of our customers and has been the partner of choice for Dart West since the inception of the project in 2010, we started discussions in 2009.”

The OptiComm network provides superfast Telecommunications services to Homes, Businesses and Community facilities across the district. In addition, the OptiComm network provides Free-to-Air Television as well as foxtel™, which enables a ‘clean roof’ approach by eliminating the need for a Satellite Dish and Television Antenna on every home within the development.

Residents can choose from over 30 Retail Service Providers for superfast broadband Internet services and business are able to access commercial grade services up to 1Gbs.  Residents also enjoy the OptiComm delivered community Wi‑Fi hot-spots in the parks with free community access to broadband internet services in the public realm.

Paul Cross, CEO of OptiComm said “We are celebrating 10-years of partnership with Dart West at Gregory Hills.  We’re proud of this as an outstanding example of how OptiComm’s Fibre-to-the-Premises network can satisfy the diverse connectivity needs of modern master-planned communities including residents in their homes, and businesses in the shopping centre and business park.”

The remaining stages of the Gregory Hills development are expected to be constructed in late 2020.
